Obituary for Amber Irene Baker (Hughes)

Amber Irene Baker, 93, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Reflections Memory Care. She was born on October 28, 1925, the daughter of Merwyn E. Hughes and Estella (Clark) Hughes.
Amber graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She was a member of Emmett Street Missionary Church, Rollite Camping Club and the Battle Creek Art Association. Amber was a Dental Assistant for Dr. Henry Brown for many years.
Amber is survived by her son, Wiliam E. (Sandra) Baker, two daughters, Becky (Randy) Olmstead, Nancy (Brad) Dyksterhouse, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Merwyn E. Hughes, mother, Estella Hughes, husband, Elex V. Baker, son, Daniel Roy Baker, sisters, Lois Harris and Merla Kidney, brother, Orland Hughes.
Amber was a well known water color artist. She won Artist of the Year in her earlier years. She loved traveling and camping and eating ice cream with her family. She also enjoyed bowling with the ladies at church. Above everything else, she loved spending time with her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
