Obituary for Dennis L. Mingus

Dennis L.  Mingus
Dennis L. Mingus, 71, of Bellevue, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on November 8, 1946, the son of Max and Betty Mingus.
Denny graduated from North West High School in Jackson in 1964. After school, he joined the United States Marine Corp. and served faithfully in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1969 due to a severe injury he suffered while serving. He was very proud of his country and proud to have served. He worked at the Federal Center for many years as an electronics specialist before his retirement. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting his guns, and camping. He was also a bit of sports fan and loved to watch the Michigan State Spartans and the Detroit Tigers.
Denny is survived by his Wife of 26 years - Vickie; Brother, Tim Mingus; Daughter, Marnee (Darin) Gutierrez; Grandchildren, Adam and Conner; Great-Grandchildren, Savanah and Leon; Mother and Father in-law, Jim and Duretha Clemons; two Sisters-in-law, Val (Chuck) Tuttle, Valeta (Doug) Norris, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his Brothers, Jeff and Gary Mingus, and brother-in-law, Gordon Clemons.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Thursday June 14, 2018, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A graveside service will be held at the Assyria Township Cemetery, Assyria Road/M-66, on Friday, June 15, 2018, at 11:00 am with Pastor Steve Olmstead of Pleasantview Family Church officiating.
Interment will follow services in Assyria Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to: Disabled American Veteran's or the Purple Heart Association.
