Mildverta (Bert) M. Sawyer, 67, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on November 8, 1949, the daughter of James Sawyer and Angeline (Whisenton) Sawyer.
Mildverta was a member of the Breakfast Club. She also was involved with St. Jude Cancer Society, and the American Cancer Society
Bert is survived by her Daughter, Shondell (Alonzo Ingram) Sawyer of Battle Creek, MI; Son, Andrew "Andre" (Lena) Sawyer of Battle Creek, MI; Two Sisters, Annie Louise Horton of Battle Creek, MI; and LaVern Sawyer of Gary, IN; Brother, Herman Starling; Two Granddaughters, MIisha Sawyer and Jasmine Sawyer, Special Granddaughters, Delena Bailey and Denise Day; Three Grandsons, Kalvin "Ricky" Jones, Kenyon Sawyer and DAndre Sawyer; Four Great-granddaughters, Jaylana, Makiyah; Two Great-grandsons, DaDa and Little Brett; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family, Special friends, Penny, Betty, Ceatte, Dorothy, Diane, Neg, Jessie of San Francisco, and her Breakfast Club ladies. She was preceded in death by her Father, James Sawyer, Mother, Angeline Sawyer, Brother, CD Sawyer, Brother, James Sawyer, Jr.
Bert loved to cook, she enjoyed making meals for her family. She enjoyed attending church and praising Jesus. She loved to play cards, and play bingo. She enjoyed going to her family reunions and catching up with people. Above all else, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. .
